A. Christensen, is a Graduate Gemologist through G.I.A.
(Gemological Institute of America). If you have any questions
you would like to ask about Diamonds or Colored Stones, please

He has been building and repairing
fine Jewelry since 1983 in the Des Moines area, before moving
to the Fox Valley in January of 2000. He joined State Street
Jewelers in
October of 2003, as a sales and design consultant.

John
was trained as a full service bench Jeweler, specializing in made-to-order
pieces. 
Skilled at wax carving, casting, masters and mold making
for multiple pieces such as service pins, all methods of stone
setting, and complete fabrication of Jewelry. |
Below is
an example of a custom wax carving, casting, and setting. This was
all done by John, except for the
Platinum casting.

Jewelry Design Awards include:
FIRST
PLACE in the 2003 Illinois Jeweler's Association competition
for an 18K and Platinum Diamond Ring (pictured at right, upper
left of the graphic).
Other awards:
FIRST PLACE, AND
BEST OF SHOW IN 1999 at the Iowa Jeweler's Association Design Competition.
Michael M. Dyber carved this new "Luminaires™" Ametrine,
hand crafted by John in 14K yellow gold, accented by diamonds in white
gold tubing. This piece competed on a National level in January of
2000, at the Jewelers of America International Show in New York City.
One of
only 32 regional winners in the U.S.
John also recieved a FIRST
PLACE Award in the 1998 Iowa show for an Ametrine and Diamond pendant,
and SECOND PLACE at
the same competition in 1997. |
